Halloween Party - 2005

In the middle of picking up the shattered pieces of our scattered lives in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Andrea organized with a bunch of the other parents to throw a Halloween Party for the kids at our house.  It was quite a spread since everyone contributed, and we grilled burgers to boot.

Virginia, Madeline, and Dakota model on the pumpkins.

Strike a pose!

Virginia and Dakota get an early start on the Spacewalk.

Ready for guests.

Virginia and Gabrielle get pulled around like royalty.
The wagon was a bigger hit than the Spacewalk some of the time.
The kids took turns pulling one another around.

Alexandra was a little grumpy, but she fell asleep while I was holding her, and then I fell asleep.
Then Paulette took my picture.  That's not the strange part.

What's strange is that I went to sleep with ONE baby, but woke up with TWO.
I'm not entirely sure what happened in the middle, but it must have been some kind of conspiracy...
At least I got a good nap out of the deal.

After nap, it was time to carve pumpkins, so Andrea lined everyone up...

...and had them draw numbers to see which pumpkin was theirs.

After everyone had selected their pumpkin, we decided to take a picture, but kids never cooperate.
Here's Andrea trying to corral them.

Say CHEESE!

Um...  Get that cheese puff out of your nose!

Put your tongue back in your mouth!

No, Alissa, not TOE cheese.

There, that's not so bad...

Dakota gets his gloves on in preparation for removing 'pumpkin guts'.

Virginia is caught contemplating putting her eye out with the stippler.

Hey!  What are you doing taking my picture!?

I better look like I'm having fun...

Angela is just a big kid at heart.

There!  All decorated.  Next year, we're going back to just doing faces!
