Black Creek Trail, DeSoto National Forest, Mississippi
PART 5
This was a 'training' trip for Bob.
I rolled out of my hammock at 7:00 AM. (Picture: Hammock, sans tarp) Bob was already up, looking very tired. He hadn't had a good night on the ground, listening to loud music, and his shoulders were hurting him. He tried my hammock again, and was very pleased that lying in the hammock relieved the stress on his shoulders, and he resolved to get one. I immediately steered him into a Hennessy Hammock, which was my original recommendation to him from the very start of this process, and he finally agreed.
He was also rather cold. I was comfortable walking around with no shirt, but he had put his jacket on. The coldest overnight temperature had been 58.8. I expect he'll acclimate once he hits the trail. We had a nice time, and I think I can truthfully say, "Mission accomplished..."
Bob, at breakfast, with the "Are you taking my picture!?" look.
