On Tuesday, my second class is George Clay's Enhanced Pistol Skills.  The course blurb is:

We will look at the speed with which a magazine reload should be accomplished.  We will explore the speed of the draw.  Off hand shooting will be experienced.  A method of cover drill will be demonstrated and practiced.  The intent of this course is to make each student a more proficient handler of the semi-auto pistol.  This class will also demonstrate areas that are in need of practice.  Student Requirements: Duty gear and weapon, 150 rounds of ammunition, and six magazines.

George, along with his co-instructor Ron Council, don't waste any time putting us through some paces.  I did find some of the drills to be very useful in identifying problem areas - especially with reloading.  The class was as promised, and I appreciated the exposure to some ideas on the safe, fast, and accurate handling of my pistol.  We didn't really do anything I hadn't done before, but we did it in a different way and I learned a few things.

I had some particular difficulty with the COVER-CLEAR-READY-UP cover drill, but we worked through it well enough.

I don't know who this shooter is, but he is very skilled in his operation and shooting.

His consistent performance is very enjoyable to watch.

Three cases in the air, and already going for the reload.

16

Case still in the air, magazine already ejecting.

Case still in the air, magazine out, new magazine going in.  I'm not sure if he managed to insert the magazine before the last case hit the ground, but if he didn't, it was close.
